Black Jack Essential Basics – Part 1
The main premise of the game is to be assigned cards totaling up to twenty one. Each blackjack player is assigned two cards. When a blackjack player is handed a 9 or less and an Ace they have been dealt a soft hand. When the gambler is dealt no Ace it is referred to as a hard hand. Once the cards have been handed to all players at the blackjack table, including the dealer, each gambler is given the opportunity to make 1 of six actions:
Requesting another card (Hit): When a player says "hit" the dealer will deal them another card, if the addition of that card causes the value of the hand to exceed twenty one the blackjack player will have lost and that’s the end of the game, if the card pushes the value of the hand to twenty one the gambler will be the winner and if the total has not yet achieved 21 they are still in the game.
Keeping the hand you’ve been dealt: If a black jack player is satisfied with the cards they will stand. Once this has happened the dealer will display their cards and the player who has accumulated 21 or the closet to twenty-one will win.
Doubling Down: A black jack player may ask to double down which increases the bet by one hundred percent they have made. As soon as you have taken this procedure you can only be given 1 additional card. The details of doubling down are usually out lined by the table or betting house game rules so before wagering be certain you’re comfortable with the casino rules. If you’re betting at a net betting house this is normally very easy.
